Make the Move to Utah: Here Are Four Reasons

Category : Insider

Utah has long been a favorite of skiing buffs and nature trekkers with its gorgeous snow-capped mountains and national parks. But the mountains aren’t the only reason Utah has become one of the United States’ best places to live in.

Great options for education, a booming job market, and colorful festivals are just some of the other reasons people are looking to move here, notes Altius Mortgage Group. Let’s take a closer look at what makes the Beehive State a great option for those who seek the good life.

Education

Utah is home to two of the most educated cities in the United States, namely Provo and Salt Lake City. In a 2017 WalletHub study of the 150 biggest and most educated U.S. metropolitan areas, Provo ranked fourth, while Salt Lake City ranked 46th.

Top-ranked schools in Utah include the University of Utah, Utah State, Weber State, and Brigham Young University.

Employment

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Utah has the second lowest unemployment rate in the entire country. Even if you don’t have a college degree, you still have a high chance of landing a great job. Based on a report from the Office of Occupational Statistics and Employment Projections, around 41 percent of jobs in Utah only require a high school diploma or equivalent.

Town life

Whether you prefer downtown or small town living, Utah can provide you with the best. Provo ranks fourth in Livability’s 2014 list of best downtowns in the country, with its robust arts community, historical buildings, and its world-class convention center.

For small town living, you wouldn’t go wrong with choosing Heber City, which ranks eighth and boasts of a variety of outdoor activities, historic stores, and vibrant festivals.

Safety

Utah is also one of the safest states in the country, particularly because of its sense of community. Here, neighbors look out for each other and are very much involved in keeping the community safe.

Utah certainly has the best of what most people look for when moving to a new home. What else can you share about moving to Utah?
